Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Remove front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
4.
Lower the vehicle.
5.
Remove exhaust manifold bolts then the exhaust manifold.
6.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a.
Install exhaust manifold on two studs on cylinder head. Install conical washers and nuts on these studs.
b.
Install two bolts and conical washers at the inner ends of the exhaust manifold outboard arms.
c.
Install two bolts without washers on the center are of the exhaust manifold.
d.
Starting at the center arm and working outward, tighten bolts and nuts to specifications.
