Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
2 Wheel Drive

1.

Place a suitable jack under outer end of lower control arm, then raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove wheel and tire assembly.

3.

Remove caliper from disc and position disc aside, then remove inboard shoe. Do not allow caliper to hang or be supported by hydraulic brake
hose.

4.

Disconnect tie rod end at steering knuckle arm.

5.

Disconnect upper and lower ball joints from steering knuckle assembly, using U ball joint removal tool No. C-3564-A.

6.

Remove tool, then the steering knuckle assembly.

7.

Remove splash shield and steering knuckle arm from steering knuckle.

8.

Reverse procedure to install noting the following: 
a.

Tighten all attaching bolts to specification.

b.

Tighten ball joint and tie rod end attaching nut to specification.
