SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Howling noise/vibration experienced during throttle tip-in or "float" operation in the 55-75 mph range.
DIAGNOSIS
Road test the vehicle for the howling noise/vibration in the 55-75 mph range. The noise is experienced during throttle tip-in or when throttle position is
slightly less than cruise, but not at a total decel position (referred to as a "float" condition). The howling sound is induced by imbalance in the automatic
transmission/prop shaft system. If the noise is present during these conditions, perform the following special balance procedure.
