Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair
NOTE: Vehicles equipped with plastic radiator tanks will require special crimping tools for servicing. The servicing should be performed by a qualified
repair facility.
^ Once repaired or replacement radiator has been installed.
^ Refill cooling system and inspect for leaks. Refer to Cooling System.
^ If transmission operates properly after repairing leak, drain transmission and torque converter while hot.
^ Remove transmission oil pan and inspect for sludge and/or rust.
^ Inspect for a dirty or plugged inlet filter. If none of these conditions are found, transmission may not require reconditioning.
