Owner Letter

SAFETY RECALL - TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS TO FUEL HOSE INTERFERENCE

Dear Dodge Truck Owner:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Chrysler Corporation has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1991 model Dodge Dakota pickup trucks
equipped with 4-speed automatic transmissions. The defect is caused by interference between the transmission wiring harness and fuel hoses routed near
the wiring. This could result in fuel hose damage and possible fuel leakage. If this occurs, leaking fuel may result in an underbody fire, which could be
hazardous to vehicle occupants.

Your Dakota truck, whose Vehicle Identification Number is shown on the enclosed form, is one of the affected vehicles. For this reason we ask that you
arrange for service to correct the condition as soon as possible. If you notice fuel odor or any sign of a fuel leak beneath the vehicle, we urge you to
contact your dealer immediately for the repair.

The service and required parts as described in this letter will be provided free of charge.

To correct the condition your dealer will secure the wiring at the transmission with a tie strap so that it will not contact the fuel hoses.

The work will take about one-half hour to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled
and processed. To obtain this free service:

Contact your dealer to schedule an appointment for the repair.

Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form shows the
identification number for the vehicle which requires this service.

If you have any problem obtaining the needed repair, please contact the Chrysler Zone

Service Office in your area. (It is listed under "Service Assistance" in your Operator's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt correction
of the condition.

We regret any inconvenience which this action may cause you. However, we believe that you understand our concern for motor vehicle safety, and for
your continued satisfaction with our products. If your dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect without charge within a reasonable time, you may
submit a written complaint to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 400 Seventh Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20590, or

SAFETY RECALL # 300T - TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS TO FUEL HOSE INTERFERENCE

This service requirement applies only to 1991 Model Year Dodge Dakota pickup trucks equipped with A500 4-speed automatic transmission vehicles
built through August 21, 1990.

Instructions were sent by Electronic Mail to all Dodge Truck dealers in September, 1990 for repair of vehicles in dealer stock before retail delivery.
Notification letters are now being mailed to owners of involved vehicles for which the recall service has not yet been completed according to current
records.
