Powertrain Control Module: Service and Repair

Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC)

CAUTION:  To prevent possible Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage to the internal components of the computer or to other delicate integrated
circuits, DO NOT touch these components without the use of wrist ground straps which have a minimum resistance of 1 Megohm.

1.

Remove the air cleaner duct from the Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC).

2.

Disconnect the battery.

3.

Remove the mounting screws from the SBEC.

4.

Remove the electrical connector from the SBEC.

5.

Remove the SBEC from the vehicle.

6.

Place the new SBEC in the vehicle and connect the electrical connector.

7.

Install the mounting screws.

8.

Reconnect the battery and air cleaner duct.
