If the coax connection is loose, then attempt to connect the coax connector to the WCM. Verify that coax connection can be made and that the
RKE system operates properly at 30 meters (100 feet). Is the coax connection secure and does the RKE system operate properly?
a.
If YES >> then STOP. Repair is complete.
b.
If NO >> then proceed to the next step.

Disconnect the antenna lead coax connector from the WCM. Carefully inspect the antenna lead coax connector for damage (bent pins). Look
closely and carefully. Is the antenna lead coax connector damaged?
a.
If YES >> then replace the antenna. Verify that the RKE system operates properly at 30 meters (100 feet).
b.
If NO >> then proceed to the next step.
NOTE:
The antenna is located on top of the instrument panel (I/P), beneath the top cover / defroster outlet unit. Replacement of the antenna will require
removal of the I/P top cover, steering column opening cover, cluster bezel, instrument cluster, and steering column shrouds.
5.
Inspect the antenna lead coax cable for being pinched.
a.
If YES >> then replace the antenna. Verify that the RKE system operates properly at 30 meters (100 feet).
b.
If NO >> then proceed to the next step.
6.
Replace the antenna. Does the RKE system operate properly at 30 meters (100 feet).
a.
If YES >> then STOP. Repair is complete.
b.
If NO >> then obtain additional technical assistance.
7.
Install the previously removed instrument panel / steering column body trim components.
