FLASH: ND 4.7L - Downstream Oxygen Sensor - Slow Response and/or Fuel Trim Related DTC's
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 4.7L engine (sale code EVA, EVC, or EVD) and a 545RFE automatic transmission (sales code
DGQ), built on or before ** January 01, 2007 (MDH 0101XX) **.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle operator may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. The MIL may be due to one of more of the following Diagnostic
Trouble Codes (DTC's):
** POI3A - Oxygen Sensor 1/2 Slow Response - Rich To Lean ** POI3C - Oxygen Sensor 2/2 Slow Response - Rich To Lean
** P2097 - Downstream Fuel Trim System 1 - Rich** P2099 - Downstream Fuel Trim System 2 - Rich
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a StarSCAN(R) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If
DTCs are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the vehicle operator describes or experiences the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
