Remove the disc brake caliper slide pins.

Remove the disc brake caliper.
5.
Support the caliper with a wire from a suspension component.
CAUTION:
DO NOT ALLOW THE BRAKE HOSE TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE CALIPER.

Remove the disc brake rotor retainers and remove the rotor.
7.
Remove the axle spindle nut (Figure 1).
8.
If equipped, remove the four wheel Antilock Brake System (ABS) front wheel speed sensors.
9.
Remove the hub/bearing mounting bolts from the steering knuckle.
10.
Slide the hub/bearing out of the steering knuckle and off the axle.
11.
Inspect the steering knuckle to ensure that the knuckle has a 450 chamfer on the outer edge of the hub/bearing attachment hole (Figure 2).

If the 45° chamfer is on the steering knuckle, proceed to the Step 14. If the 45° chamfer IS NOT on the steering knuckle, proceed to the next step.

Replace the steering knuckle (see Parts Required section). For information regarding steering knuckle service, refer to the appropriate 2000
Service Manual, Group 02, Steering Knuckle Removal/Installation procedures. Once the steering knuckle has been replaced, proceed to Step 14.
