Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Center Distribution duct asseembly

1. Discharge A/C system and drain engine coolant. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core and plug openings to prevent spillage.
3. Disconnect vacuum lines from intake manifold and water valve.
4. Remove right scuff plate and cowl side trim panel.
5. Remove glove box and A/C control panel.
6. Remove console and forward bracket if so equipped.
7. Remove screw holding forward-in-car wall of right duct and center duct together. Pivot blade of screwdriver between screw head and right duct to

remove.

8. Remove 2 duct retaining screws at bottom of lower panel. Disconnect center to right duct retaining tabs by reaching through glove box opening

and depressing forward surface of center distribution duct at connection to right duct.
