In order to obtain access to the purge vacuum line, the fuel reservoir and bracket (if so equipped) must be removed from the carburetor air horn
studs. After removing the air cleaner, disconnect the fuel supply hose from the reservoir to the carburetor at the carburetor inlet. Then disconnect
the fuel supply hose from the fuel supply tube to the reservoir inlet at the fuel supply tube (Figure 1). Lift the reservoir and bracket from the
carburetor air horn studs and carefully set aside so as not to pinch or tear the fuel hoses attached to the reservoir.

NOTE:

AS OF THIS WRITING THERE EXISTS THE PROBABILITY OF A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR INSTALLED IN
PLACE OF, AND AT THE SAME LOCATION AS, THE FUEL RESERVOIR IN LATE 1987 "L" BODY VEHICLES. IN
THESE VEHICLES, THE SAME REMOVAL PROCEDURE AS THAT FOR THE RESERVOIR SHOULD BE USED.

ON THOSE VEHICLES WITHOUT A FUEL RESERVOIR (OR REGULATOR), THE FUEL SUPPLY LINE TO THE 
CARBURETOR WILL NOT HAVE TO BE DISCONNECTED.

Locate that section of the purge vacuum line which travels from the in-line connector at the dash panel side (passenger end) of the valve cover to
the carburetor nipple (1984 models only), or to the nipple in the spacer beneath the carburetor (1985, 1986, and 1987 models) - (Figure 2).
Remove this portion and discard.
