Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection
1.
Remove wire connector from temperature sending unit.
2.
Turn ignition switch to the ON position.
3.
Using a jumper wire, momentarily ground the sending unit lead wire. This should cause the temperature gauge to swing to the full HOT position.

If the gauge does not respond properly, check the wiring to the gauge and the power and ground feeds to the gauge.

If power, ground, and wiring continuity are OK, replace the temperature gauge.
