EGR Valve: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Disconnect EGR transducer electrical connector and vacuum hoses.
2. Remove EGR valve to exhaust manifold nuts.
3. Remove EGR tube to EGR valve bolts.
4. Remove EGR tube to intake nuts.
5. Clean gasket surfaces and discard old gaskets. 
6. Inspect for signs of leakage or cracks.

Installation

1. Loosely install EGR tube on valve with new gasket.
2. Install EGR valve and tube with new gaskets and start all bolts by hand.
3. Torque EGR tube to intake nuts to 200 lb-in (22 Nm).
4. Torque EGR tube to EGR valve bolts to 95 lb-in (11 Nm).
5. Torque EGR valve to exhaust manifold nuts to 200 lb-in (22 Nm).
6. Connect vacuum hoses and electrical connector.
