Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Sensor
Removal
1.
Disconnect sensor wiring.
2.
Remove retaining bolt.
3.
Pull sensor straight out of transaxle housing.
Installation
NOTE: The distance between the sensor and camshaft sprocket is critical to system operation. Be sure paper spacer is attached to sensor face when
installing sensor.
1.
If sensor is to be reinstalled, clean sensor face and affix new spacer to sensor face before installation. If sensor is being replaced, confirm that
paper spacer is attached to face of new sensor.
2.
Install sensor in transaxle and push sensor down until contact is made with transaxle housing. Hold in position and install and torque the retaining
bolt 145 in-lbs (16.3 Nm).
3.
Connect sensor wiring.
