Suspension Mode Switch: Description and Operation

There are two selector switches located on the center console. On Soft and one Firm switch. When the VDCM senses that neither switch is activated
(pins 9 and 10 both reading 5 volts) it will automatically choose the Norm setting. Vehicle ride behavior is selected with the appropriate switch; soft
button down for Soft, both buttons up for Norm, firm button down for Firm. An LED illuminates to indicate the selected position.
SELECTOR SWITCH INPUT CHANGES
If the selector switch input changes and no faults are present, the VDCM will illuminate the LED for the new selection. The VDCM will then attempt
to drive all four motors (inside the shocks/struts) to the new position. If the system is functioning correctly and all four motors obtain the new position,
the LED for that setting will remain illuminated. The typical response time for all motors to reach a new position is two seconds. If two seconds pass
and the VDCM senses that the four shocks/struts have not obtained the newly selected position, the VDCM will enter the Fault mode.
NORM, SOFT & FIRM SELECTIONS
If neither the Soft or Firm switch is closed, the module will illuminate the Norm LED and drive the motors to the Norm setting. The LED illuminating
means a damping selection was received by the module. The brightness of the switch bezel display is controlled by circuit E02 from the headlamp
switch.
