Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair
Without T-Roof

REMOVAL

If the tempered door glass has shattered, use the following procedure to replace the glass:

1. Use protective covering to cover all painted sheet metal, plastic parts, and interior trim that is located close to broken glass.
2. After putting on gloves, remove broken glass from window frame.

The following steps should be used regardless of glass condition or reason for removal:

3. Move window to down position, then disconnect battery.
4. Remove trim panel, water shield, and air shield. Raise glass so that access to the glass nuts can be reached thru lower access hole.
5. If glass is intact, support it by hand while removing three lift plate to glass attachment nuts.
6. Remove the two glass stabilizers.
7. If broken, remove all glass particles from inside of door. If intact, glass may be removed through window frame.
8. Remove and vacuum out the glass run if glass was broken.

INSTALLATION AND ADJUSTMENT

1. Attach three glass to lift plate mounting stud assemblies to glass.

2. Install glass through window opening.
3. Attach glass to lift plate with three nut and washer assemblies but do not tighten.
4. Attach the two inner glass stabilizers but do not tighten.
5. Loosen the three glass track mounting screws.
6. Connect battery for electric regulators and install regulator handle for manual system.
7. Move window to up position guiding glass as necessary to prevent binding.
8. Starting with the center nut, tighten the three lift plate to glass attachment nuts to 10 Nm (85 in. lb.).
9. Tighten the three glass track mounting screws to 13 Nm (115 in. lb.).

Glass Adjustment Points

10. Adjust inner glass stabilizers to lightly touch glass and tighten to 13 Nm (115 in. Lb.).
11. Move glass to down position and disconnect battery or remove regulator handle.
12. Install trim panel and all related items.
