Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair

1. Raise car and remove front wheels.
2. Remove grease cap, cotter pin, locknut and bearing adjusting nut.
3. Remove bolts that attach caliper to steering knuckle.
4. Slowly slide caliper up and away from disc and support caliper on steering knuckle arm. Do not allow caliper to hang by brake hose.
5. Remove thrust washer and outer bearing cone. Remove hub and disc assembly. Grease retainer and inner bearing can now be removed.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
