After taking off rocker arm and shaft assembly, lift out push rods. The valve lifters, Fig. 9, may then be removed with a suitably long magnet rod. If
the lifters cannot be removed with the magnet rod, a special tool (C-4129) may be used,. Insert the tool through the push rod opening in the cylinder
head and into lifter. Turn the handle to expand the tool in the lifter, then with a twisting motion remove the lifter from its bore.
