Valve Guide: Service and Repair
Valves operate in guide holes bored directly in the cylinder head. When valve stem-to-guide clearance becomes excessive, valves with oversize stems of
.005, .015 and .030 inch are available for service replacement. When necessary to install valves with oversize stems the valve bores should be reamed to
provide the proper operating clearance.
