4. Mount suitable dial indicator on axle housing with stylus against right side of ring gear mounting flange. Rotate differential case several times
while observing dial indicator. If runout exceeds 0.003 inch, the case is damaged and must be replaced.
5. Remove differential case assembly from axle housing, then remove lock screw and pinion shaft.
6. Rotate side gears until pinion gears appear at opening. Remove pinion gears.
7. Remove side gears and thrust washers, then the case from vise.
8. Using suitable puller, remove differential case bearings.
