Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair
Front

1. Raise and support front of vehicle.

NOTE: Sway bar to lower control arm attaching points are aligned only when lower control arms are at design height. If frame contact or twin
post hoist is used, release load on torsion bar by turning adjuster bolts counterclockwise, then raise lower control arms until clearance between
crossmember ledge and torsion bar to lower control arm bushing is 2.875 inches. Support lower control arms with jack stand during sway bar
removal and installation.

2. With lower control arms properly supported, remove sway bar to torsion bar bushing attaching bolts, retainers, cushions and sleeves.
3. Remove retainer assembly strap bolts and retainer straps, then remove sway bar.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Inspect cushions and bushings for excessive wear or deterioration and replace as necessary.
