Blower Motor: Service and Repair
Removal - Front
REMOVAL
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument
panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system
capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the
proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and possible personal injury or death.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right front door scuff plate See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Scuff Plate/Description and Operation/Door Sill Scuff
Plate.
3. Remove the right cowl side trim panel See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Description and Operation/Cowl Trim.
4. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the blower motor (2).
5. Remove the three screws (3) that secure the blower motor and blower wheel assembly to the HVAC housing (4).
6. Remove the blower motor and blower wheel assembly from the HVAC housing.
