Rear Window Defogger Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING:  ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, REFER TO PASSIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEMS BEFORE ATTEMPTING
ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE
TO TAKE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL
INJURY.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the heater-A/C Control assembly (Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING/CONTROLS/A/C HEATER CONTROL - REMOVAL).

Note:  Rear Window Defogger Switch is part of the heater-A/C Control assembly and is not a replaceable component. If damaged or inoperative
the entire heater-A/C control assembly must be replaced.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the heater-A/C control assembly (Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING/CONTROLS/A/C HEATER CONTROL -

INSTALLATION).

2. Install the negative battery cable.

Note:  The rear window defogger switch is part of the heater-A/C Control assembly, if damaged or inoperative the entire heater-A/C Control
assembly must be replaced.
