Heater Core: Description and Operation
Front Heater Core - Description
DESCRIPTION
The heater core (1) for the front heating-A/C system is located in the front HVAC housing, behind the instrument panel. It is a heat exchanger made of
rows of tubes and fins. The heater core is secured to the HVAC housing by a plastic retaining bracket and screws. The heater core tubes (2) are attached
to the top of the heater core by metal retaining clips (3) and O-ring seals.
The heater core tubes are not serviced separately from the heater core. The HVAC housing must be removed from the vehicle to service the heater core.
