7. Clean and oil all main bearing cap bolts.
NOTE: The main bearing caps are not interchangeable, make sure they are installed in their original locations.
8. Install all main bearing caps (1) in their original location making sure the arrow (2) points toward the front of the engine.
NOTE: The double ended oil pan stud must be installed in the same location from which it was removed.
9. Using the sequence shown, tighten the main bearing cap bolts to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
10. Using the sequence shown, tighten the main bearing cap bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
11. Using the sequence shown, rotate the main cap bolts an additional 90°.
