Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair
Catalytic Converter - Removal
5.7L HEV
To remove the RH catalytic converter it is necessary to remove the transmission.
1. Disconnect negative batter cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Saturate all exhaust bolts and nuts with Mopar(R) Rust Penetrant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
4. Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connectors.
5. Remove the clamp (3) holding the LH catalytic converter (4) to the RH catalytic converter (2).
6. Remove the catalytic converter-to-manifold bolts (1).
7. Remove the LH catalytic converter (4) from the RH catalytic converter (2).
8. Remove the transmission See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Removal.
9. Remove the clamp holding the RH catalytic converter (2) to the exhaust pipe(s).
10. Remove the RH catalytic converter (2) from the extension pipe.
11. Remove the RH catalytic converter from the vehicle.
