Crankshaft - Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In
addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High

1. Perform the HEV high voltage power down procedure See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Service and Repair/Battery
System - High Voltage Power Down
2. Remove the engine from the vehicle See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine - Removal
3. Remove the vibration damper (1) using crankshaft insert 8513A (2) and puller 1023 (3) See: Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley/Service and
Repair/Vibration Damper - Removal
4. Using the sequence shown, remove the flexplate bolts and remove the flexplate.
