Route the wire to the forward pointing ground stud just above the parking brake release lever (see Illustration 2).

CAUTION: BE SURE TO ROUTE THE WIRE AWAY FROM THE HEADLAMP SWITCH RHEOSTAT.

Install the new ground wire eyelet under the ground nut on the stud. Torque this nut to 60 in.lbs. (see Illustration 2).

To check the new ground wire: Remove the dome lamp fuse (Fuse 2). Connect a fused #912 light bulb between the battery positive post and the
new ground eyelet at the traveler mounting leg. Using a digital voltmeter (DVOM) such as Miller Tool C-4845 or Circuitmate DM-10 (set to
milli-volt scale), connect between the ground stud and the dome light door ground switch. The voltage reading must be less than one milli-volt
(.001 volt). If volt reading exceeds one milli-volt, the ground path from the panel reinforcement to cowl side must be corrected.

9.

Remove the test light, reinstall the fuse. and then install the steering column cover and dress-up panel.
