This repair involves the replacement of the PRNODL Switch.

1. Check transmission fluid level and condition.

2. Connect the DRB II to the vehicle and record any fault codes.

3. Erase any fault codes.

4. With the ignition switch in the off position, disconnect the battery negative cable.

5. Disconnect the PRNODL switch wire connector at the switch and remove the PRNODL switch. Inspect the connector for terminal push-out or

spreading of terminals as per T.S.B. # 08-16-90.

6. Install the updated "antique bronze/olive drab" PRNODL switch along with the new washer. Ensure the new washer is not cocked when

installing the switch. Tighten to 34 N-m (25 ft.lbs.).

7. Connect the PRNODL switch wire connector to the switch.

8. Connect the battery negative cable.

ROAD TEST DIAGNOSIS:

1. Road test the vehicle in overdrive for (10 miles) to assure transmission has reached normal operating temperature and all gear ranges have been

used.

2. After road test connect the DRB II to the vehicle and check for any fault codes and repair as required.
