Thermostat: Service and Repair
1.
Drain cooling system below thermostat level.
2.
Remove thermostat housing bolts, then lift housing away from engine.
3.
Remove thermostat, discard gasket and clean both gasket sealing surfaces.
4.
Place a new gasket on water box surface, center thermostat in water box on gasket.
5.
Place housing over gasket and thermostat, ensuring thermostat is in housing. Bolt housing to water box.
6.
Tighten bolts to specifications, refill cooling system and bleed as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES.
