Compressor Shaft Seal: Service and Repair

Removal

1.

Discharge the A/C system. 

2.

Remove the compressor from the engine.

3.

Stand the compressor on end and remove the clutch and coil assembly from the compressor.

4.

Remove the key from the compressor shaft.

5.

Remove the six compressor through bolts.

6.

Remove the front cover from the compressor by tapping it with a plastic hammer.

7.

Remove and discard the front cover "O" ring.
