SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Rear seat(s) may rattle at the floor attachments (striker) when driving over rough road surfaces.

DIAGNOSIS:

Inspect the right side rear seat floor strikers. If they are smooth, perform the Repair Procedure. If the strikers are grooved, this bulletin does not apply.

Striker, Rear Seat Floor

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves installing revised right side rear seat floor strikers in the 1st, 2nd and 5th positions.

1.

Remove both rear bench seats.

2.

Remove the rear floor mat.

3.

Remove both right rear seat anchor escutcheons.

4.

Raise the vehicle on an appropriate hoist.

5.

Remove the muffler heat shield.

6.

Remove the retaining nuts for the 1st, 2nd and 5th (as counted from the front of the vehicle) rear seat strikers on the right side of the vehicle, refer
to illustration. These strikers can also be identified by a flat top surface.

7.

Lower the vehicle.

8.

Pull carpet up around the flat top strikers and remove the strikers from the vehicle.
