Dear Chrysler Minivan Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Corporation has determined that two defects which relate to motor vehicle safety exist in some 1996 Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan;
Plymouth Voyager and Grand Voyager; and Chrysler Town & Country minivans.
The Problems are...
The fuel tank rollover valve on your minivan (identified on the enclosed form), may allow liquid fuel to enter the vapor canister, resulting in the potential
for fuel leakage on the ground. Also, a static charge may build up on the fuel filler tube and cause a spark to occur when fueling the vehicle. Either of
these conditions create the potential for a vehicle fire which could be hazardous to vehicle occupants.
What Chrysler and your dealer will do...
Chrysler will repair your minivan free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will replace the fuel filler tube with one that contains an
additional rollover valve and a ground strap. Your dealer will also reroute the fuel tank vent hoses. The work will take about 1-1/2 hours to complete.
However, additional time may be necessary depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed.
What you must do to ensure your safety...

Simply contact your dealer right away to schedule a service appointment. Ask the dealer to hold the parts for your vehicle or to order them before
your appointment.

Bring the enclosed Owner Notification Form with you to your dealer. It explains the required service to the dealer.
