DISCUSSION:
It is extremely important the IOD fuse be FULLY seated in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) otherwise the following symptoms may occur:
IGNITION SWITCH IN "ON" POSITION
Radio cuts in and out.
Radio time display and station presets go to default settings (time setting default is 12:00).
When the key is inserted into the ignition switch and turned to the "ON" position, the windshield wipers may cycle once.
IGNITION SWITCH IN "OFF" POSITION
Power door locks are inoperative with either the power door lock switches or the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.
Interior lighting is inoperative. Security alarm can not be enabled. Headlamp delay inoperative Warning chime for the headlamps left on is inoperative
Warning chime for the key in the ignition switch is inoperative
To gain access to and connect the IOD, release the latch at the rear of the PDC and lift the PDC cover slightly. Press down on the yellow IOD holder
inside the PDC until it is BOTTOMED in its receptacle. Push down on the IOD fuse with a small screwdriver to be sure the fuse is FULLY seated.
Return the PDC cover to is original position and pull up on the rear of the PDC cover to make sure the PDC cover is fully latched and secure to the PDC
body.
Some NS/GS vehicles built in the future may not have the yellow IOD fuse holder. These vehicles will have the IOD fuse taped to the underside of the
PDC cover when they are shipped from the assembly plant.
