COOLING SYSTEM IS HOT OR UNDER PRESSURE.

On a hot engine, if the engine has been run recently, wait 15 minutes before removing the radiator cap. Then place a shop towel over the radiator
cap and without pushing down slowly rotate the radiator cap counterclockwise to the first stop (Figure 1). Allow coolant to escape through the
overflow tube and when the system stops pushing coolant/steam into the coolant recovery bottle and the pressure drops, push down and rotate the
radiator cap counterclockwise to remove the cap completely. Squeezing the radiator inlet hose with a shop towel (to check for system pressure)
before and after turning to the first stop is recommended.
3. Clean the radiator cap sealing surface inside the radiator filler neck (Figure 1).
4. Fill the cooling system at the radiator filler neck if required.
NOTE:
Coolant being added must be premixed 50% water/50% coolant.
5. Install the new radiator cap onto the radiator fill neck.
6. Check the coolant level in the coolant recovery bottle and add coolant if required.

7. Close the hood.
