NOTE: If a foam seal on the defroster duct is deformed or damaged, it must be replaced.

1. Position the defroster duct (1) onto the top of the HVAC air distribution housing (3).
2. Install the three screws (1) that secure the defroster duct to the air distribution housing. Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.).
3. Install the instrument panel.

4. Install the two screws (1) that secure the defroster duct (2) to the top of the instrument panel cover (3). Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.).
5. Install the defroster grille onto the top of the instrument panel.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

Front Floor Distribution Ducts - Removal

REMOVAL

1. Remove the center floor consoleSee: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Floor Console - Removal.
2. Remove the front seatsSee: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seat - Removal.
3. Roll back the front floor carpet from under the instrument panel toward the rear of the vehicleSee: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /

Trim/Carpet/Service and Repair/Carpet - Removal.

4. Disengage the right intermediate floor distribution duct (2) and the left intermediate floor distribution duct (4) from the studs located on the floor

support (3).

5. Disconnect the right and left intermediate floor distribution ducts from the front HVAC housing (1) and remove the ducts from the vehicle.
