9. Using crimping pliers (1), crimp clamp securing bellows to gear body.
10. If servicing right inner tie rod, position heat shield (1) over steering gear (2). Install mounting screws and push-pins. Tighten screws to 8 Nm (71
in. lbs.).
11. Thread tie rod jam nut (3) onto inner tie rod (4) far enough to install outer tie rod.

OUTER TIE ROD
1. Install outer tie rod onto inner tie rod threads. As outer tie rod is installed, count out same number rotations as were counted on tie rod removal.
This will get toe setting somewhat close to specifications before vehicle is aligned at end of this procedure.
