FLASH: Blind Spot Module Enhancements
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flashing the Blind Spot Detection Module (BSM) (Sales Code XAN) with new software.

Town & Country/Grand Caravan
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built before March 09, 2009 (MDH0309XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may experience intermittent "Blind Spot Not Available" in the EVIC Display. The sensors in the rear fascia may go out of sync during
power up with the blind spot control module. If not detected within a certain time frame, the system will default to "Blind spot detection" unavailable. On
the next ignition key cycle, the system may operate normally.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicle operator describes or experiences the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure. If there are any other complaints check for codes
and preform standard diagnostic procedures according to the diagnostic section in TechConnect.
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE - USING THE INTERNET TO RETRIEVE THE FLASH FILE:
NOTE:
The StarMOBILE(TM) in standalone mode can be used for the flash.
NOTE:
Before performing this Repair Procedure, the operating software in the StarSCAN(R); must be programmed with software release level 9.05 or
higher.
