Seat Back: Service and Repair
Seat Back Frame - Removal

REMOVAL

WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat

air bags. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to
discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the
proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: Left seat shown in illustrations. Right seat similar.

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle and place it on a workbench See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seats, First Row/Seat -

Removal.

2. Remove the seat back cover and cushion (1) from the seat back frame (2) See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seats, First

Row/Outer Trim Ring Panel - Removal.

3. Remove the armrest bracket (3) from the seat back frame.
4. Remove the lumbar support and handle mechanism (4) from the seat back frame See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Seats, First

Row/Front Lumbar Support - Removal.

Second Row, Swivel

REMOVAL

1. Remove the seat from the vehicle and place it on a workbench.
2. Remove the seat back from the seat See: Seat Back - Removal.
