Grand Caravan V6-3.8L (2009)
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant System Recovery.
3. On models equipped with the rear heating-A/C system, disconnect the A/C liquid line from the underbody liquid line See: A/C Underbody Lines -
Removal.
4. Remove the air cleaner housing and inlet duct from the engine compartment.
5. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the A/C pressure transducer (2) located on the fitting on the rear section of the A/C liquid line (3)
at top of the A/C receiver/drier (4).
6. Remove the A/C pressure transducer from the rear section of the A/C liquid line and remove and discard the O-ring seal.
7. Remove the bolt (5) that secures the rear section of the A/C liquid line to the A/C receiver/drier
8. Disconnect the rear section of the A/C liquid line from the A/C receiver/drier and remove and discard the O-ring seal.
9. Remove the nut (3) that secures the A/C suction line (1) and the A/C liquid line (5) to the A/C expansion valve (2).
10. Disconnect the A/C suction and liquid lines from the A/C expansion valve and remove and discard the washer seals.
11. Separate the rear section of the A/C liquid line from the tapping block (4) of the A/C suction line.
12. Disengage the rear section of the A/C liquid line from the retaining brackets located near the center of the dash panel and at the rear of the
receiver/drier and remove the liquid line from the engine compartment.
13. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the expansion valve and receiver/drier ports.

CAUTION: Be certain to adjust the refrigerant oil level when servicing the A/C refrigerant system See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant Oil
Level. Failure to properly adjust the refrigerant oil level will prevent the A/C system from operating as designed and can cause
serious A/C compressor damage.
NOTE: When replacing multiple A/C system components, refer to the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to determine how much oil should be
added to the refrigerant system See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant Oil Level.
NOTE: Replacement of the refrigerant line seals and gaskets is required anytime a refrigerant line is disconnected. Failure to replace the
rubber O-ring seals, metal gaskets or washer seals may result in a refrigerant system leak.
