6. Position the front of the heater core cover (5) to the front of the HVAC housing (2) and engage the retaining tab that secures the cover to the
housing.
7. Install the heater core cover to the driver side of the air distribution housing (3) and install the two screws (4) that secure the cover to the housing.
Tighten the screws to 1.2 Nm (10 in. lbs.).
NOTE: If the foam seal from the front of the HVAC housing is deformed or damaged, it must be replaced.
8. Install the foam seal (1) onto the front of the HVAC housing.
9. Install the A/C expansion valve See: Expansion Valve/Service and Repair/A/C Expansion Valve - Installation.
10. Install the HVAC housing .
Front Air Inlet Housing Removal

WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or
service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to
discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the
proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: The air inlet housing must be removed from HVAC housing for service of the recirculation-air door.
NOTE: LHD model shown. RHD model similar.
1. Remove the HVAC housing and place it on a workbench .
2. Disconnect the HVAC wire harness (4) from the recirculation door actuator (5).
3. Remove the five screws (2) that secure the air inlet housing (1) to the HVAC housing (3) and remove the inlet housing.
