Wiper Arm - Removal

Front

REMOVAL

1. Open the hood.
2. Carefully pry the plastic nut cap (3) off of the pivot end of the wiper arm (2).
3. Remove the nut (4) that secures the wiper arm to the wiper pivot shaft (5).
4. Close the hood.
5. Lift the front wiper arm to its over-center position to hold the wiper blade (1) off of the glass and relieve the spring tension on the wiper arm to

pivot shaft connection.

6. Use a slight rocking action to disengage the front wiper arm pivot end from the pivot shaft and remove the wiper arm.

CAUTION: The use of a battery terminal puller when removing the front wiper arm is NOT recommended except as a last resort, as this may

damage the front wiper arm.

7. If the rocking action failed to free the wiper arm from the pivot shaft, lower the wiper blade back onto the glass , then open the hood.
8. Use a suitable battery terminal puller (3) to disengage the wiper arm (1) from the pivot shaft (2).
9. Remove the wiper arm pivot end from the pivot shaft.
