Front Door Latch: Service and Repair
Front Door Latch - Removal
REMOVAL
NOTE: Left side shown. Right side similar.
1. Remove the carrier plate from the door and place it on a workbenchSee: Service and Repair/Front Door Carrier Plate - Removal.
2. Disconnect the door wire harness connector (4) from the latch (1).
3. Disengage the retaining clips that secure the linkage rod (5) and linkage cable (6) to the door latch and disconnect the rod and cable from the latch.
4. Carefully disengage the tab (2) located on the top of the door latch from the carrier plate (7).
5. Carefully disengage the tab (8) located on the bottom of the door latch and remove the latch.
6. If required, disengage the retaining clips that secure the two linkage rods (3) to the door latch and disconnect the rods from the latch.
