SUBJECT:
Power Steering Return Lines
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves removing and replacing the gear to cooler power steering return hose with a kevlar braided return hose.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to all vehicles built since June 18th, 2007 and before November 22nd, 2010 (MDH1122XX).
NOTE:
This only applies to vehicles which are exposed to extreme cold temperatures below -40°C(-40° F).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer may experience leaks in power steering return line, at cold start up in temperatures below -40°C(-40°F) and increased steering efforts or noisy
power steering pump.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the above condition is present and determined, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE -
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > Hoisting >
Standard Procedure > Hoisting.
2. Remove the Gear to Cooler Power Steering Return Hose. Refer to the detailed removal procedures available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT
under: Service Info > 19-Steering > Pump > HOSE, Power Steering, Return > Removal > Gear to Cooler.
3. Install the Gear to Cooler Power Steering Return Hose. Refer to the detailed removal procedures available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT
under: Service Info > 19-Steering > Pump > HOSE, Power Steering, Return > Installation > Gear to Cooler.
