SUBJECT:
Flash: MIL Illumination / DTC's P2302, P2305, P2308, P2311, P2314 or P2317
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to RT models equipped with a 4.0L engine (sales code EGQ) before August 14, 2007 (MDH 0814XX) and CS models equipped
with a 4.0L engine (sales code EGQ) built prior to September 5, 2007 (MDH 0905XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may experience Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. No other symptoms will be experienced. The customer may notice the
MIL after decelerating.
Further investigation by the technician may find the following stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's):

P2302 - Ignition Coil # 1 Insufficient Ionization
^
P2305 - Ignition Coil # 2 Insufficient Ionization
^
P2308 - Ignition Coil # 3 Insufficient Ionization
^
P2311 - Ignition Coil # 4 Insufficient Ionization
P2314 - Ignition Coil # 5 Insufficient Ionization
^
P2317 - Ignition Coil # 6 Insufficient Ionization
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a StarSCAN(R) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine Systems are functioning as designed. If
DTCs other than those listed are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the DTCs listed above are found with no other Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
