Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Rear Spring - Removal
REMOVAL
NOTE: Before proceeding, See: Service Precautions/Rear Suspension.
1. Raise and support vehicle.See: Wheels and Tires/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair
2. On each side of vehicle, remove wheel mounting nuts (3), then rear tire and wheel assembly (1).
3. Position transmission jack or equivalent under center of axle raising it enough to support axle.
4. Remove bolt (3) and nut securing track bar (2) to axle (4).
5. On each side of vehicle, remove lower mounting bolt (4) and nut (3) securing shock absorber (5) to axle.
6. On each side of vehicle, remove screw fastening rear brake flex hose bracket to frame rail. Allow bracket to hang free, but do not bend it
downward, overextending flex in brake tubing.
