If the fluid level is at or below the center of the slot in the rounded end (under 1/4") (Figure 13), continue with Section C.

3.

Remove the excess brake fluid in the brake booster using a hand-held suction gun (Snap-On PN YA-745 or equivalent) as follows:

A.

Insert the suction hose into the brake booster master cylinder opening between the coils of the diaphragm return spring until the hose
contacts the bottom center of the booster (Figure 14).

B.

Suction the fluid out of the booster until the brake fluid level is 1/4" or below.

C.

Discard the removed fluid. Do not pour it into the master cylinder reservoir.

D.

Flush the suction gun thoroughly with water.

C. Reinstall Master Cylinder

1.

Position the master cylinder on the brake booster studs, aligning the brake booster push rod with the master cylinder push rod.

2.

Install the two (2) master cylinder retaining nuts. Tighten the nuts to 225 in-lbs (25 N.m).

3.

Connect the primary and secondary brake tubes to the master cylinder ports. Tighten the brake tube nuts to 145 in-lbs (17 N.m).

4.

Connect the brake fluid level switch electrical connector.

5.

Verify that no leaks exist and road test the vehicle to assure proper operation.

Completion Reporting and Reimbursement

Claims for vehicles which have been serviced must be submitted on the DIAL System. Claims submitted will be used by Chrysler to record recall service
completions and provide dealer payments.
