A/C Suction/Liquid Line Service Fitting

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
On some A/C suction/liquid lines, it may be difficult or impossible to connect the service equipment quick-connect couplings to the service fitting.
NOTE:
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CONNECT THE SERVICE EQUIPMENT COUPLING TO THE LINE FITTING, BE SURE THE VALVE OF THE
COUPLING IS FULLY CLOSED. THIS WILL DRAMATICALLY REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT REQUIRED TO MAKE THE
CONNECTION.
DIAGNOSIS:
1.
Referring to Figure 1, measure from the base of the fitting to its top. The minimum dimension is 21 mm (.827 in.) and side clearance to the swage
end of tube is 17.5 mm (.689 in.).
2.
Referring to Figure 2, inspect the fitting for paint in the area indicated.
