Make a mark on the crankshaft damper at the 11 0-clock position on the inside diameter of the outer ring (Figure 2). Make a 1.5 ounce ball out of
clay or dum-dum and place it on the outer 11 o-clock position mark.
NOTE:
3-1/2 PIECES OF KENT P/N 10315 SEAL n CALK (DUM DUM) CAN BE USED TO MAKE A BALL THAT IS APPROXIMATELY 1.5
OUNCES.
7.
Lower the vehicle and recheck the condition by performing steps 1 and 2. If the vibration is reduced, perform the Repair Procedure.
NOTE:
BE SURE TO REMOVE THE 1.5 OUNCE WEIGHT FROM THE CRANKSHAFT DAMPER BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE REPAIR OR
RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO THE CUSTOMER.

Repair Procedure
This repair involves removing the oil pan, marking the crankshaft in specific locations, and removing a pre-determined amount of material from those
locations with a drill.
1.
Raise the vehicle on a hoist and drain the engine oil.
2.
Remove the bending brace to transaxle housing bolt.
3.
Remove the transaxle inspection cover to gain access to the rear oil pan bolts.
