Use locking pliers to wrap the spring around the mounting tab (Fig. 1).

Use a hammer to tap the spring downward toward the mounting bracket.
5.
Align the tabs on the push nut to the slot on the spring shaft and use a hammer to install the counter balance spring push nut (Fig. 2).
